The Opportunity
The Consumer Experience Project Officer plays a vital role in strengthening UPA’s person‑centred, rights‑based approach to aged care across Residential Aged Care, Home Care and Retirement Living services. Reporting to the Director, Consumer Experience, you will promote meaningful consumer, family and volunteer engagement, capture consumer insights, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. Working collaboratively with leaders, staff and stakeholders, you will ensure the consumer voice shapes service design, delivery and evaluation with a focus on enhancing the quality, safety and experience of care for older people across UPA’s communities.
You will:
- Create engaging communications for consumers and to appropriately share their stories
- Strengthen the voice of consumers in organisational governance through supporting advisory bodies.
- Contribute to the design and ongoing improvement of UPA’s volunteer program.
- Help build staff capability by supporting training, resources and person‑centred practice initiatives.
- Assist with projects and policy updates that support organisational priorities and best practice.
- Model safe, professional and values‑led behaviour while actively participating in learning and development.
What you will need
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in health, social services, business or related sector
- Knowledge and understanding of aged care in Australia including relevant laws and regulations
- Experience in designing and delivering consumer engagement and consultation activities including interviews, focus groups
- Skills in consumer, community and stakeholder engagement
- Project management experience including supporting committees and governance processes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to respectfully engage diverse consumers, staff, volunteers and stakeholders.
- Oral presentation and facilitation skills including conducting interviews, small group discussions
