Resource Recovery Operator

Permanent Full-Time (38 hours per week)The role:
Council is seeking a motivated and hands-on Resource Recovery Operator to join our Sustainability team. This is an opportunity to play a key role in the safe, efficient and environmentally responsible operation of Council’s Waste Management Facilities, while delivering a high standard of customer service to our community.
Based primarily at the Scone Waste Management Facility, you may also be called upon to support operations across other Council sites as required.
In this role, you will operate and maintain a range of plant and equipment, contributing to the smooth day-to-day running of the facility. You will take pride in maintaining high operational standards and ensuring the site remains clean, safe and well-managed supporting both the community and Council’s broader sustainability objectives.
What’s on offer:
- A salary range from $1135.90 – $1272.20 per week (based on relevant skills and experience) + 12% superannuation + allowances
- A true 38 hour working week, Monday – Friday working week with the opportunity for overtime if desired
- Fortnightly Rostered Day Off (working a 9-day fortnight)

What we need from you:
- Demonstrated willingness and capability to undertake training and operate Council’s weighbridge, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality customer service at all times.
- Previous experience operating plant and equipment is highly desirable, along with sound computer literacy.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team environment, while also showing initiative and the capacity to work independently when required.
