Your new job
The Youth Activities Officer will deliver a range of youth-orientated activities for local youth, including roll out of initiatives identified in Council’s Youth Strategy. The program will be delivered on a twice weekly basis in Gulgong during school term, with an additional activity being delivered in each town each school holiday. This is a new role that facilitates after school and school holiday activities as funded by the Department of Communities and Justice from 1 January 2026 until 30 June 2031. The role will work closely with Youth Services Officers and Community Development Officers. The roles may be adjusted to a part time role in the future when success of the program is assessed.

You
- Completion of High School certificate
- Relevant experience in working with youth, community development or related discipline.
- Ability to prioritise child safety and uphold Council’s commitment to being a child-safe organisation.
- Current and ongoing understanding of local community and awareness of relevant services.
- Well-developed oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work with others in a team environment.
- Demonstrated ability in use of basic MS Office software – Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Current drivers licence.
- Knowledge of occupational health and safety responsibilities and a commitment to attending relevant WHS training.
- Ongoing valid Working with Children Check clearance.
- First Aid certificate, or ability to obtain.
The salary range being offered for this casual position is $44.61 - $50.23 gross per hour plus superannuation (dependent on skills, qualifications and experience)
