Do you love working with young people? Got a knack for turning ideas into awesome programs and events? Then this might be your dream role. We're on the lookout for an energetic, creative, and community-minded Youth Programs Officer to help shape meaningful experiences for young people across our community where no two days are the same.
In this role you'll be at the heart of youth activity-building connections, creating opportunities, and making a real impact. You will also have the following accountabilities:
- Implement and maintain the operations and programs of the Shire's Youth Drop-In service and Youth Space.
- Actively consult with young people to seek their opinions, ideas and issues to keep up to date with emerging trends and needs.
- Contribute to the creation, review and implementation of operational strategies, plans, programs, and policies to achieve best practice.
- Contribute to the development of ongoing relationships with service providers, community organisations and funding bodies.
Our preferred candidate will be passionate about youth development and community and a confident communicator who connects easily with young people. They will also be able to demonstrate the following experiences and skillset:
- Relevant qualification or significant demonstrated experience in the delivery of youth development services.
- Experience and expertise in community development for young people and the delivery of youth services, including consultation, planning, implementing, evaluating and reporting
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and assume a supervisory role to lead others in the delivery of youth services, programs and events.
- Good organisational and project planning and delivery skills, including effective management of time to prioritise and deliver on tasks.
