Trainee Survey & Design
Location: Tamworth, NSW

- Development of CAD skills for plan preparation for a variety of design situations

COULD THIS BE YOU?
To be successful in this role you will be keen, motivated and willing to apply yourself to learn new design skills for the betterment of the region. You will have an understanding of the importance of quality design and will be keen to apply yourself to learn the skills to create quality designs.
This traineeship is for the term of three (3) years. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to undertake hands on experience in a work environment whilst completing a nationally recognised qualification, completing a Cert IV in Civil Construction Design.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY
- Develop skills and assist Survey Team to produce site plans that will be used for design and investigation for future Civil Infrastructure
- Develop Computer Aided Design and Drafting skills to produce a variety of Civil Infrastructure designs
- Develop skills and understanding across a range of engineering areas to solve real world problems for the betterment of the community
OPPORTUNITIES EXIST FOR:

- Opportunities to progress through skill development and experience to Designer and Senior Designer for outstanding candidates.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED
- To be eligible and willing to undertake a Traineeship towards attaining a Certificate IV Civil Construction Design or other relevant course;
- A Current Driver Licence (P1 & P2 is acceptable)
- High attention to detail & accuracy
- Good results and/or ability in Mathematics, Science, Design & Technology and/or Industrial Technology
- Good communication skills both verbal and written;
- Experience working effectively in a team environment (work, school, sport);
- The ability to problem solve and take initiative with a positive can-do attitude;
- A desire to use your skills for the betterment of the community; and
- A genuine interest in building a career in your chosen area.

Salary range: Grade T3 – T5 - $736.00 - $985.60 per week plus superannuation for a 35-hour work week. Salary may be negotiated based on skills, experience and your value to our organisation.
Flexible working arrangements will be considered by mutual agreement and according to operational requirements.
