The opportunity
Looking for a role with variety, responsibility and community impact? As a Casual Recreation Supervisor, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day operation of our Leisure Centres, helping to create safe, welcoming and enjoyable experiences for our customers. More than a gym-based position, you'll balance customer service, fitness support, operational duties and safety responsibilities while ensuring our facilities run smoothly. No two shifts are the same, making this an ideal role for someone who enjoys working with people and thinking on their feet.

About you
You are a customer-focused and safety-conscious professional who enjoys working with people and creating positive experiences for the community. With strong communication and interpersonal skills, you confidently support customers from a wide range of backgrounds, respond effectively to enquiries, complaints and first aid situations, and contribute to a positive team environment. You have experience working in recreation, fitness, leisure or customer service settings and are comfortable using reception, booking and point-of-sale systems. Your knowledge of exercise principles, client screening and exercise programming enables you to support customers on their health and wellbeing journey, while your ability to remain calm, think on your feet and adapt to changing priorities ensures the smooth operation of the facility. An eye for detail, commitment to safety and passion for customer service will set you up for success in this dynamic role.
To be successful in this role, you will hold :
- Current HLTAID015 - Provide Advanced Resuscitation and Oxygen Therapy qualification.
- Current HLTAID011 - Provide First Aid qualification.
- Current NSW Working With Children Check.
- Current AusActive Registration as a Gym Instructor.
- Completion of a nationally recognised Gym Instructor, Certificate III in Fitness, or equivalent qualification.
Applicants who have completed the required qualification are encouraged to apply, including those whose AusActive registration is currently inactive or has lapsed.
Applicants without the required fitness qualification will not be considered.
Applicants who do not currently hold a valid AusActive Registration or HLTAID015 qualification are encouraged to apply if they are willing to obtain these prior to commencement.
Under Part 2, Section 6 of the Child Protection (Working With Children) Act 2012, this position has been designated as requiring a paid NSW Working With Children Check.
We are offering casual positions that will operate at Lakeside Leisure Centre and Beaton Park Leisure Centre. While, we have a range of hours available, our current priority is to cover early mornings (5.45am-9am), late afternoon/evenings (5pm-10pm), and weekend shifts (6am-6pm) to meet operational requirements. Uniform and PPE provided.
The salary for this role is $44.95 per hour plus superannuation and 25% casual loading.
