About the role
The Senior Social and Digital Media Advisor is responsible for providing expert advice and contributing to high quality digital communications which enhance Inner West Council’s reputation; proactively promote Council and the Inner West; and meet strategic objectives such as encouraging citizen and staff involvement.
This role will also create and oversee digital and social media content, including videos, to actively promote Council’s programs and projects to the community.

Remuneration
$115,437.92 - $127,610.08 p.a. + 12% Superannuation
Some of the required skills, experience and qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in communication, public relations, marketing or a relevant field, or commensurate industry experience
- Demonstrated expertise in social media, digital communications/marketing and/or public relations, including the management of multi-platforms and the production of digital, marketing and other promotional materials.
- Demonstrated experience in updating web content through content management systems and in graphic design and/or the Adobe design suite software, along with a strong understanding of contemporary best practice in social media, communication trends and emerging digital technologies.
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with clients and media professionals, along with expertise in writing, filming, editing and producing video content.
- Ability to develop and/or implement social and digital media strategy in a dynamic, high-pressure environment working under pressure and manage tight deadlines, along with understanding of political messaging, public relations and engagement strategies
- Current NSW Class C Driver’s Licence
