About the role
This role will lead the delivery of Bayside Council's building renewal and capital works programs, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget. Working closely with internal stakeholders across Council, you will oversee construction delivery, manage competing priorities and support the successful delivery of projects that enhance Council's assets and facilities.
Leading a team of project managers and project officers, you will provide strategic oversight across project delivery, governance, financial management and resource planning. You will play a key role in reviewing project scope and design, resolving delivery challenges, managing risks and ensuring completed projects meet operational requirements, compliance obligations and long-term asset objectives.
You can also expect to:
- Lead the delivery of Council's building renewal and capital works programs through construction and handover.
- Monitor program performance, budgets and project outcomes across multiple workstreams.
- Support and develop project delivery staff through coaching, mentoring and leadership.
- Review project scope, design and delivery outcomes to ensure projects are fit-for-purpose and aligned with asset objectives.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to manage project constraints, risks and delivery priorities.
- Coordinate project handovers to Council's Properties and Facilities Maintenance team.
About you
You are an experienced construction or project delivery leader with a strong background in building, renewal or capital works programs. With well-developed leadership, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills, you can confidently lead teams, manage competing priorities and drive successful project outcomes while fostering a collaborative, safe and high-performing team culture.
You will bring:
- Demonstrated experience delivering building, construction, renewal or capital works projects.
- Proven leadership experience managing project teams and delivery programs.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Experience managing project budgets, risks, governance and delivery outcomes.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Project Management, Engineering, Building or a related discipline.

Salary: An attractive remuneration package commensurate with experience and qualifications
