Focus of the Role

As a Strategy Analyst, you will play a key role within the new Strategic Partnerships team sitting under Telstra InfraCo’s Digital Infrastructure Solutions (DIS) function. Your focus will be on helping to develop and execute our infrastructure partnership strategy.

As a Strategy Analyst, you will have a key role within the new Strategic Partnerships team under Telstra’s InfraCo business, specifically within the Digital Infrastructure Solutions function. Your responsibilities will include developing and executing the infrastructure partnership strategy.

Strategic partnerships is a key enabler of our long-term InfraCo strategy and how we will achieve our future ambitions to be a leader in digital infrastructure as part of Telstra’s Connected Future 30 strategy. Our purpose is to enable InfraCo to efficiently capture long-term growth through identifying, developing and managing different partnerships. This could involve bringing on new product capability, creating new channels to market or supporting external partnerships alongside the Corporate Development team. Our goal is to enhance InfraCo’s digital infrastructure capabilities, open new revenue streams, reduce operating costs and align with our broader business objectives to create greater utilisation of our assets.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to be a part of a new team focused on growth. You will tackle challenging projects and be exposed to a rapidly changing digital infrastructure market, driven by AI and automation, and different types of partnership models including both commercial and M&A opportunities. There will be support for you to develop a wider set of skills from strategy, partnership management to project delivery as well as relationships across a breadth of internal and external stakeholders. What You’ll Do

Telstra InfraCo - Digital Infrastructure Solutions provides customers with a wide range of products and solutions that utilise our assets, including wholesale internet, ethernet access, dark fibre, wavelength, data centre colocation and satellite ground stations. We are responsible for InfraCo’s product lifecycle, experience and innovation, asset planning and engineering standards and IT and systems.

This is how you bring your role to life:

Market Research: Monitor and analyse industry and partnership developments, competitor activities and trends across global and domestic telco, tech. and digital infrastructure markets.
Partnership Development: Support the identification of potential partnerships through analysing key market players, vendors, suppliers, and customers, aligned to our longer-term partnership strategy.
Partnership Evaluation: Assist in the evaluation of partners and use cases to understand the potential opportunity and determine a preferred partner or approach. This involves assessing strategic rationale, value creation, commercial model / structure and impacts to InfraCo / Telstra etc.
Partnership Management: Help drive the onboarding process for new partners and management of partnership agreements including coordinating and preparing meetings, materials, documentation, relevant approvals, billing / invoicing and events etc.
Strategic Plans & Execution: Support the creation of partnership plans including "do-to-learn" pilots, "learn-to-do" market studies and investment business cases alongside the DIS Products and Innovation teams. Help to drive the project management and implementation of partnership initiatives to enable overall success.
Planning, Performance & Risk: Maintain the DIS partnership roadmap and risk profile including updates on key risk mitigation actions. Track and assess the progress, health and success of current partnership initiatives, ensuring alignment into the broader planning, performance and risk process.
Process & Standards: Develop standardised processes, frameworks or templates that allow the partnership team to scale with growth. Provide insights to continually improve how we operate existing or new partnerships.
Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain and nurture relationships with key stakeholders across InfraCo, Telstra and partners. Help to facilitate communication, information flow and resolve any issues that arise with stakeholders.

About You

To be successful in the role, you'll bring the following:

Strong problem-solving abilities and structured thinking to understand and tackle business challenges.
Highly organised with strong project management capabilities and attention to detail and experience in developing and executing plans.
Strong financial, commercial and analytical skills to provide insights and assess business opportunity and impacts.
Adept at working in a collaborative, high performance environment; strong intellectual curiosity, willingness to learn and passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
Solid verbal and written communication skills to support presentation materials for senior stakeholders.
Effective stakeholder management skills with ability to work cross-functionally and build strong relationships with peers and key stakeholders to achieve outcomes under time and resource pressure.
Experience in the commercial, business development, strategy, planning or partnerships function of a large commercial enterprise, consulting or other advisory firm.
Undergraduate qualifications in Business/Commerce/Finance/Engineering or other relevant discipline.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (in particular, advanced Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills) is essential.
Experience in and understanding of digital infrastructure, telecommunications, technology or related industries will be helpful but not mandatory.
