Your new role
- Strong understanding of strategic sourcing and category management.
- Extensive experience in sourcing and category management, including successful supply market research, commercial strategy preparation, managing complex requirements, and participating in high-value negotiations.
- Proven experience in preparing Sourcing Strategies / Procurement Plans, Recommendations for Award, and Board Papers.
- Significant post-award contract and supplier performance management experience for complex commercial arrangements.
- Experience in large, multi-disciplined, and geographically dispersed organisations, particularly in engineering, mining, infrastructure asset management, or utilities.
- A degree in Commerce, Supply Chain, Law, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Knowledge or experience in WA Public Sector Procurement.
What you'll need to succeed
Conduct research, develop commercial prototypes, analyse 'price' and 'demand' levers, and utilise supply market intelligence to create commercially advantageous sourcing strategies.
Develop sourcing strategies in consultation with Contract Owners, key stakeholders, and the Team Lead – Category Management, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and objectives.
Maintain a thorough understanding of business process value chains and operational methodologies within your assigned categories.
Provide coaching and mentoring within the team in line with category management processes.
Develop and lead negotiation strategies.
Liaise with Legal for negotiation of legal departures.
Act as the Corporation's representative for all notices, variations, amendments, and disputes, ensuring formal communications are managed in accordance with contract terms and conditions to protect company interest
