HOBAN Recruitment is recruiting for the role of APS6 level Intelligence Analyst on behalf of our federal government client located in DEAKIN Canberra, ACT. This position sits within a high-profile division focused on combating fraud and enhancing integrity within national service delivery. You'll work across multi-agency operations, analysing data and intelligence to support investigative outcomes and inform strategic responses.
Key responsibilities include:
- Producing high-quality intelligence reports to support fraud assessments.
- Leading intelligence projects, including data collection and analytical planning.
- Using tools like i2 iBase, i2 Analyst Notebook, SAS and Excel for advanced data analysis.
- Supporting ongoing investigations and providing real-time analytical insights.
- Maintaining accurate and secure documentation in line with legislative frameworks.
- Monitoring emerging risks and contributing to continuous improvement strategies.
- Ensuring compliance with all security clearance requirements.

About You:
You are a critical thinker with a passion for data-driven decision making and national integrity. You bring strong analytical skills and a collaborative mindset, capable of working in fast-paced, highly confidential environments.
To be successful, you'll have:
- Demonstrated experience in intelligence or fraud analysis roles
- Strong ability to analyse complex datasets and identify patterns or anomalies
- Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
- Proven ability to interpret and apply policy and legislation
- Experience developing collection plans and producing intelligence products
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially SharePoint, Word, Excel
- Ability to hold and maintain a security clearance (Baseline or higher)
- Desirable: Certificate IV in Intelligence Operations (or willingness to obtain)
- Desirable: Familiarity with analytical tools (i2, SAS, Analyst Notebook, etc.)
