Oversee safety support for infrastructure programs, offering expert advice on strategic objectives, risk mitigation, injury prevention, regulatory compliance, and fostering a culture of safety. What You’ll Do
- Build and maintain positive relationships with internal/external stakeholders, ensuring successful delivery and exceeding expectations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance business practices, using insights and benchmarking to identify and implement improvements.
- Continuously challenge and refine work practices for better quality and efficiency, leveraging performance data for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with legislation, codes of practice, and safety systems; coach teams and promote a safety culture.
- Participate in risk assessments, review safety documentation, and monitor safety management systems to ensure effectiveness.
- Conduct inspections and support safety investigations, tracking actions and communicating findings to improve safety practices.
Your experience and qualifications:
- You have a solid understanding of contract safety management and experience with heavy construction and large capital works projects.
- You possess high-level interpersonal skills, including team building, relationship management, and conflict resolution.
- You model, influence, and encourage positive behaviours, with highly developed negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
- You have strong investigative, analytical, planning, and organisational skills, with the ability to work effectively in team environments and foster cross-departmental networking.
- You are adaptable and open to change, with a high level of self-awareness and self-management.
- You possess a working knowledge of the WHS Act, WHS Regulations, associated Codes of Practice, and Australian Standards, demonstrating a results-oriented approach and hands-on management of WHS.
- You’re an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident at time of application.
