Sydney Water is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Commercial Manager to lead the execution of complex commercial projects and strategic initiatives. The role would enable the business to manage the increasing complexities and risks of the business brought by Greater Sydney Water Strategy and Sydney Water’s Long-Term Capital and Operational Plan.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and negotiation of complex infrastructure agreements, including sewer mining, recycled water supply, and direct access arrangements.
- Develop innovative commercial structures and pricing whilst ensuring existing customers are protected from the emerging high-demand sectors.
- Drive internal alignment across Regulatory, Planning, Finance, and Legal teams to ensure pricing positions are grounded in IPART frameworks, infrastructure cost recovery principles, and long-term financial modelling.
- Represent Sydney Water’s commercial interests in strategic discussions with external bodies.
- Contribute to opportunity identification and commercial scoping for emerging or early-stage projects that may develop into larger strategic arrangements.
- Engage in the diverse variety of commercial portfolio including operational and existing contracts opportunities and business improvement analytics.
- Drive commercial capability development within the team.
- Prepare board, committee, and executive papers to support decision-making at senior and governance levels.
About You
- You are a strategic leader with strong commercial and structuring skills and a passion for infrastructure innovation.
- Extensive experience in commercial leadership, ideally within utilities, infrastructure, or high-demand sectors.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills at senior levels.
- A proven ability to influence policy and deliver commercial outcomes in complex environments.
