About the role
As a high voltage test technician, you will work as part of a specialist team who perform a range of tests on electrical systems and equipment within our Electrical Network. Utilising a variety of instruments and test equipment, you will perform high voltage (HV) testing to ascertain & monitor the condition of assets such as transformers, HV switchgear and HV cables.
Another key responsibility is locating cable faults within our Network, making sure faults are identified and addressed promptly. You will also play an important role in providing safe access to underground cable systems for both our employees and Accredited Service Providers. You need to have a strong attention to detail to verify compliance and functionality of equipment, along with the ability to solve complex problems in electrical systems, or the willingness to learn.
