About the Orange Aquatic Centre
A purpose built facility completed in 2012, the Aquatic Centre boasts many features including heated indoor and outdoor pools and diving facilities, as well as beach volleyball and basketball courts and a kiosk and Café area.
Open all year round, with aqua aerobics, water polo and a large swim school on site, the Orange Aquatic Centre is a fantastic facility which stands out as an excellent environment to learn and enjoy one of life’s most important skills.
Jobs/Responsibilities
Reporting to the Duty Supervisor, the Senior Lifeguard is responsible for ensuring high standards of safety and customer service at the Orange Aquatic Centre. This includes:
- Undertaking the supervision of lifeguards including scheduling rotations and breaks, assisting with lifeguard training, responding to escalated issues and undertaking daily checklist/compliance sign off.
- Ensuring Lifeguards undertake assigned duties to the required standard including providing general feedback and advice.
- Undertaking general lifeguard duties including surveillance and supervision of the pol, ensuring patrons are abiding by rules and general cleaning duties.
- Undertake operational tasks relating to maintenance of water quality and equipment/plant.
- Undertake rescues and emergency interventions in accordance with Centre and Council policies and procedures, RLSSA Guidelines for Safe Pool Operation and industry standards and practices.
Skills/Experience
To be successful in this position you will need to have:
- Relevant previous experience in a similar role
- Proven ability to implement high standards of public supervision and safety and the ability to mentor and supervise Lifeguards
- Current RLSSA Pool Lifeguard Licence
- Current Provide First Aid certificate and Current Provide CPR certificate
- Current NSW Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain prior to commencement)
- Ability to obtain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check
