About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Development Compliance Officer as well as highly motivated and eager Development Compliance Officer to join the team. These roles conduct inspections of unauthorised building and land use activity, enforce legislative requirements/regulations, and monitor developments. The successful candidate will also be responsible for issuing warnings/cautions, penalty notices, notices and orders for offenses to ensure compliance within the shire.
What you will be doing:
- Carry out inspections, issue orders and penalty infringement notices
- Enforce legislation requirements and regulations whilst abiding by relevant Acts
- Investigate complaints, defects incidents and offences
- Monitor development, building and subdivision sites
- Prepare statement of basic facts, contentions, briefs of evidence and affidavits as well as appear in court.
- Assess and determine Building Information Certificates
What are we seeking in our new team member:
- Current Class C Drivers Licence
- White Card - General Construction Induction
- Development Compliance Officer, 1-2 years working knowledge and experience of relevant Acts, Legislation, Regulations and Standards
- Senior Development Compliance Officer, 3+ years working knowledge and experience of relevant Acts, Legislation, Regulations and Standards
- Diploma/Degree qualifications in Building Surveying, Planning, Compliance or similar field or equivalent industry experience in an enforcement role

Salary $112K p.a. + Superannuation + Leaseback
