About the role:
We are seeking a highly skilled, driven and strategic individual to join our Infrastructure & Transport Planning Team. As a Principal Coordinator, you will be responsible for the Traffic and Roads team and engaging extensively with key internal and external stakeholders to manage stakeholder issues as well as supporting operations, design and transport planning objectives. The role also provides design advice and plans for the team's requirements and resources into the future.
What this role looks like:
- Manage the Transport Planning Team, in delivery of services, projects and initiatives specified in Council’s Strategic Plan and Operations Program
- Assist with the review of access, infrastructure, and plans for the existing transport infrastructure to ensure integration with the design and development of current and future needs.
- Delivery of transport planning projects and alignment with the overarching Integrated Transport and Land Use Strategy
- Oversee grant funding applications and infrastructure prioritisation and advocating on behalf of Council in relation to local and regional transport infrastructure funding and delivery.
- Undertake and manage the assessment of Traffic impacts of Development proposals and provide timely and pragmatic advice.
What are we seeking in our new team member:
- Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, transport planning, or a related discipline
- Strong knowledge in multi-modal transport planning, and movement and place concepts.
- Exceptional communication skills, ensuring effective engagement with internal and external stakeholders
- Proven ability to manage and analyse complex and sensitive transport matters
- Experience in policy development and transport modelling
- You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of transport in The Hills Shire Council, balancing strategic priorities while ensuring practical and sustainable outcomes for our growing community.
Position details:
Permanent full-time role, salary $165K (including Car & Package Allowance) + Superannuation + Engineering Allowance 3.5% **
