About the Role
The Commercial/Sustainability Accountant is responsible for monitoring and maintaining
Councils solar array management contracts, and the
facility site to ensure optimal performance. They will work with the Financial
Planning Coordinator, CFO and the broader team to develop and embed reporting
solutions, controls and frameworks to support timely and transparent reporting
of climate and sustainable financing information. They will support key
initiatives to help the delivery of our sustainability and climate commitments
and have the opportunity to work closely with stakeholders across the business,
finance and environment teams.
Essential Criteria
- Relevant tertiary
qualifications in an accounting, business or commerce field. Any STEM (science,
technology, engineering or math) would be considered.
- Demonstrated
experience in scoping and project managing sustainability projects or programs
focused in more than one of the following: 1) resource management 2) climate
change mitigation and adaptation 3) stakeholder engagement and change
management.
- Sound knowledge of
legislation and government policy relating to resource efficiency, energy
management and climate change
- Demonstrated
ability to develop organisation-wide strategies, including excellent strategic
sustainability research capability (e.g., sustainability benchmarking,
materiality, trends analysis)
- Demonstrated
ability to manage energy retail, operational and maintenance contracts.
- Strong attention
to detail and exceptional communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement
skills.
- Demonstrated
ability to work autonomously and to deliver outcomes in specified timeframes.
- High degree of
commercial acumen and professional judgement with the ability to make
recommendations and draw out insights.
- Commercial
finance/FP&A skills e.g. balance sheet and/or revenue reporting and
provision of relevant insights.
- External audit
experience to prepare for responses, resolve audit findings working with
relevant stakeholders and improve the control environment.
- Knowledge of
workplace health and safety (WHS) responsibilities and a commitment to
attending relevant WHS training.
A competitive salary is on offer, working 35
hours per week over 19 days with an RDO every 4 weeks.
Additional benefits, generous leave allowances
and long service leave after 5 years are all part of the package on offer.
The salary range being offered for this full-time position is $3,602 - $4,054 gross per fortnight plus superannuation which equates to an annual salary of $93,667 - $105,419 gross plus superannuation (dependent on skills, qualifications and experience).
