The Policy Portfolio drives WALGA’s research and policy development efforts, covering areas such as emergency management, social and community policy, environment, waste management, planning, building regulation, and economic analysis. We’re seeking a highly organised and proactive Administration Assistant to support the Executive Manager Policy and the broader Policy Portfolio. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced, evolving environment and has experience in executive support, and a keen eye for administrative detail and workflow efficiencies.
It also offers a unique opportunity to gain insight into the internal workings of policy development and advocacy.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Providing high-level administrative support
• Coordinating meetings, preparing agendas, and managing documentation
• Assisting with stakeholder communications and engagement activities
• Supporting project tracking and reporting
• Maintaining accurate records and databases
What You’ll Bring
• Proven experience in a high level administrative role
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Tech-savvy with proficiency in Microsoft Office and other business systems
• A collaborative, inclusive mindset and a willingness to learn

Our membership includes all 139 Local Governments in the State. WALGA uses its influence, support and expertise to deliver better outcomes for WA Local Governments and their communities. We do this through effective advocacy to all levels of Government on behalf of our members, and by the provision of expert advice, services and support to Local Governments.
