Global Networks & Technology - Security & Operations is responsible for Telstra's security and operations, protecting Telstra's assets and infrastructure. As a Senior Security Engineer focused on Web Application Firewall (WAF) capabilities you will be involved in designing, building, and configuring Telstra’s WAF security platform to protect critical internal and customer-facing web applications.
This is a high-impact opportunity to shape a new function within the security engineering group, contributing to Telstra’s broader mission to deliver secure, scalable, and innovative technology solutions.
You are a seasoned security engineer with:
5–10 years’ extensive experience in successfully deploying WAF Security (Akamai, Radware, Cloudflare, AWS, Azure, Imperva) and configured security policies for protecting different web and other applications.
Strong background in web application development and troubleshooting. Proven experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and various back-end languages like Python, Java, or Ruby. Nice to have skills: SQL or MongoDB, RESTful APIs and JSON.
Solid foundation and experience with deploying and configuring network infrastructure (Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, F5).
Solid understanding of network routing and switching protocols (IP, TCP, UDP, SSL, HTTP, etc.).
