Strategic Property Specialist with strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to support the management and strategic development of Council’s diverse property portfolio. About the Role
As a
Strategic Property Specialist, you will:
- Support preparation, monitoring, and delivery of the property portfolio budget.
- Proactively manage legal and financial issues to ensure timely resolution.
- Review property assets and contribute to long-term strategic planning with commercial and social considerations.
- Develop and implement strategic property initiatives, including sales, leasebacks, and divestments.
- Investigate revenue-generating opportunities within legislative and policy frameworks.
- Prepare reports, policies, and correspondence for leadership and Council on property initiatives and transactions.
- Represent Council as owner on strata committees and ensure compliance with operational policies and regulations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry developments and foster strong project, financial, and contract management skills within the team.
What You’ll Bring
- Tertiary qualification in Property, Business, Law, or a related field.
- Proven experience in property management, urban planning, or similar, preferably in government.
- Strong financial and budget management skills, including experience identifying and developing income-generating opportunities
- Proven ability to review property portfolios and deliver development strategies, including acquisitions, disposals, and redevelopment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence a wide range of stakeholders
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office and property management systems, with strong analytical and data interpretation skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects independently and within teams, meet tight deadlines and contribute to organisational improvements
- Current NSW Class C Driver’s Licence.
Desirable
- Experience in local government or public sector property management
