The Role
The Business Support Lead is an integral position in the City Plan and Transformation Unit, providing high-level executive and administrative support to the Manager and wider team. The role assists with the coordination of projects and initiatives led by the Unit and supports the delivery of day to day operations. Through collaboration and effective communication, the Business Support Lead contributes to a cohesive team environment focused on responding to organisational priorities and community needs.
Duties will include but not be limited to:
- Provide high level executive support to the Manager and wider team, including diary management, meeting coordination, preparation of briefing materials, and recording of minutes, actions, and decisions within a dynamic work environment.
- Assist in the coordination of multi-disciplinary projects across Council, supporting alignment with strategic objectives and contributing to timely and effective delivery.
- Support the management of consultancies and assist in the preparation of project briefs. Contribute to stakeholder and community engagement activities by coordinating consultations, presentations, and briefings.
- Participate in identifying and supporting the implementation of business and process improvements that contribute to effective service delivery and operational outcomes.
- Utilise available technology and systems to enhance administrative processes and assist in maintaining efficient workflows.
- Undertake research to support the development of reports, presentations, and strategic documentation.
- Assist in monitoring progress toward Unit goals and performance indicators, and contribute to the evaluation of outcomes to support ongoing improvement efforts

You will have:
- Tertiary qualifications or equivalent related discipline / business experience (minimum 5 years).
- Class C Drivers Licence.
- Experience in Government relations Exceptional level of attention to detail in all aspects of your work.
- Demonstrated project management experience Understanding of strategic planning processes at a local or regional level.
- Experience in business analysis and administration High-level communication skills, both oral and written, including reports.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel and Windows' Programs.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills together with high level strategic and analytical thinking.
- Demonstrated relationship management experience and highly developed interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prepare and monitor budgets.
The salary range for this opportunity commences at $104,465 (Grade H, Step 1) + 12% super. Salary may be negotiable dependent on skills and experience.
