The opportunity
Join our team at Federation Council and help us build and maintain our community's road network. We are hiring two skilled Works Officers to operate Council plant and provide labour for our road maintenance and construction projects.

Essential key criteria to be addressed in applications
- Hold a current and valid Medium Rigid (MR) Licence.
- Hold certificates of competency to operate a variety of plant such as skid steer, excavator, loader etc.
- Hold a General Construction Induction Certificate (White Card).
- Demonstrated relevant experience working in a construction environment or similar.
- General knowledge of servicing and maintenance of various plant to ensure they are in a clean and operational condition.
- Show initiative in solving problems, improving methods and productivity along with the ability to seek guidance and advice where required.
This role requires flexibility to work additional hours on occasion and participation in our after-hours on-call roster.

The appointment will be in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award and Council’s policies and conditions of employment. Wages are dependent upon qualifications, skills and experience. Your commencing wages will be $1,153.70 per week, plus standard allowances. We offer a higher rate of $1,212.10 per week, plus standard allowances, for those with a Certificate III in Civil Construction or a higher relevant qualification, recognizing the value of your expertise. The final wages will be based on your experience and qualifications.
