About the roleThis role places you in the heart of the decision-making process in the City of Sydney, working in the office of Labor Deputy Lord Mayor, Zann Maxwell.
You’ll work in a fast-paced political environment, providing evidence-based advice, creating communications and lead the work of collaboration and engagement with stakeholders.
We are looking for someone who:
Has demonstrated experience in a policy and/ or research, for either a government, not for profit or advocacy organisation, including one or more of the following: experience in the preparation of policy notes, communications materials, and/ or stakeholder correspondenceHas demonstrated experience engaging collaboratively with government, community organisations, progressive movements, and/ or resident groupsHas strong skills across digital communications, including writing newsletters, electronic direct mail (EDMs), reports, social media content, creating videos, and using graphic design tools to produce high quality visual materials.Has demonstrated commitment to the values that underpin the work of a progressive Labor office—like affordable housing, climate action, inclusive economic prosperity, and responsive local government.Understands the current political landscape, with a particular focus on local issues.

This role has the option of a rostered day off each month, known as a 19-day month.
