About the role
Are you hands-on, love live events, and thrive behind the scenes where the action happens? Bathurst Regional Council is seeking enthusiastic Casual Technicians to join the team at the Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre (BMEC).
In this flexible role, you’ll help bring performances to life setting up staging, lighting, sound, and AV equipment; supporting rehearsals and shows; and ensuring every event runs smoothly and safely. You’ll work closely with artists, presenters, and the BMEC crew to deliver outstanding experiences for audiences and performers alike.
We’re looking for reliable team players who are practical, adaptable, and quick to learn. If you enjoy problem-solving under pressure, have a keen eye for detail, and a passion for theatre, concerts, and live entertainment, this is your chance to be part of Bathurst’s vibrant arts scene while developing your technical skills.
Key Requirements
- Demonstrated interest in and aptitude for technical work in the entertainment industry
- Work well in a team environment
- Preparedness to undertake repetitive physical labour in the set up and break down of events
- Preparedness to undertake basic hospitality duties
- A pleasant, courteous manner and neat appearance
- Ability to work flexible hours across day and evening shifts

This position requires a pre-employment health assessment which includes a functional, audio and drug & alcohol screen.
Salary: $35.37 per hour + super + weekend penalty rates if applicable
Position Status: Casual
