Gilgandra Shire Council is seeking a Roadside Maintenance Team Leader to join the Infrastructure Team!
- Permanent full time - 38 hours per week
- Rostered day off every fortnight - an extra 22 days off a year!
- Weekly pay cycle
- Salary range $1190.10 - $1428.05 per week
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Roadside Maintenance Team Leader is responsible for leading and undertaking roadside maintenance activities to support the safe and efficient operation of the road network. The role ensures adequate vegetation clearance, sight distance at intersections and curves, and the rectification of minor pavement defects through planned and preventative maintenance. This position contributes to community safety, fire prevention, and the overall amenity of the region.

ABOUT YOU
Council is looking for someone who has the following qualities, experience and/or qualifications:
- Current driver’s license Class C
- Possession of Safe Work WH&S Construction Induction Certificate (White Card)
- Chemical Certification
- Traffic Controller Accreditation
- Experience operating a tractor/slasher
- Ability to perform risk assessments, conduct tool box meetings and lead small groups regarding Safe Work Method Statement development and reviews
- Basic skills in operating a wide range of small plant and equipment/hand tools
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated understanding and commitment to WH&S issues
- The ability to supervise and lead others
- The ability to manage time and priorities, people and resources to complete work
- Ability to work unsupervised
