Our City Presentation area has an exciting opportunity for a motivated person to join our Sports Fields team.
You will support our Sports Field Supervisor with the planning, delivery and maintenance of turf management activities across our sporting facilities and recreation areas. Your work will help create high-quality fields and open spaces for sporting groups and the wider community to enjoy.

Your key focus areas are
:
- Work collaboratively with the Sports Fields team to deliver maintenance activities, including planning, prioritising, scheduling, responding to service requests, ordering materials and maintaining records.
- Complete administrative tasks such as timesheets, diaries, checklists, inductions and spray sheets.
- Support the Supervisor by guiding team members and apprentices through role modelling, mentoring and on-the-job training.
- Assist with team operations and the safe use and minor maintenance of plant and equipment.
- Liaise with sporting groups and provide high-quality customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure all activities comply with WHS, environmental and legislative standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and promote Council positively.

LET’S HEAR ABOUT YOU
You have a strong background in turf management and sports field maintenance, with hands-on experience in irrigation systems and sporting surface preparation. You are a reliable, self-motivated team player who is passionate about turf management, committed to safety, and enjoys taking accountability for your work. You think strategically, forward plan, problem solve, and use your initiative to deliver high-quality results. Your attention to detail ensures that all turf and sports surfaces are maintained to the highest standard. With your can-do attitude and excellent interpersonal and communication skills, you build effective working relationships and contribute to delivering safe, playable, and high-quality sporting facilities for our community.
You will bring:
- Tertiary/Trade certificate qualifications in Sports Turf Management
- Proven leadership, supervisory, interpersonal and communication skills
- Extensive relevant experience in Sports Field maintenance, including using small plant and specialised turf machinery relevant to the role
- Practical understanding of Sports Field Irrigation Systems
- Experience working with limited supervision
