About the role:
Reporting to the Senior Management Accountant, you will be responsible for providing an efficient and effective vehicle fleet management service that supports the organisation with operational fleet requirements as well as working closely with stakeholders regarding purchases and sales of fleet vehicles.
You will ensure property, plant and equipment related transactions are updated in the asset management system and reconciled to the general ledger as well as liaising with the Assets Management Team to ensure accurate financial data is maintained. You will assist the Asset & Systems Accountant with all financial reporting relating to infrastructure, property, plant & equipment, including posting of depreciation, monthly reconciliation of assets transactions to the general ledger, as well as performing a regular stocktake of Council’s assets.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following key skills and attributes:
- Tertiary qualifications in accounting and/or demonstrated experience in accounting or appropriate field
- Understanding of accounting for property, plant and equipment assets and experience maintaining a computerised asset management system
- Demonstrated ability to meet the needs and expectations of customers and stakeholders
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral and the ability to work as an effective and cooperative team member
- Highly developed organisational and administrative skills with attention to detail
- Current Drivers Licence
