Team Leader Water (Connections)
Permanent full-time
38 hours a week + RDO every fortnight
Attractive and Competitive Salary: $79,729.00 - $92,657.76 + 12% Superannuation per annum
Lead from the front - Apply your technical knowledge and leadership skills to ensure the integrity, reliability, and performance of Council’s water network.
What you'll do
As a Team leader Water (connections), you'll report to the Coordinator Water Network and lead the delivery of varying works including inspection, testing, maintenance, operation, repair, renewal and construction of water assets. You'll work in accordance with planned and reactive programs to meet service delivery functions of Water Services and regulatory standards, specialising in construction of new services, modifications of existing services, asset installations and maintenance, network operation and water quality monitoring.
You’ll bring strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to represent Council positively, build productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and engage collaboratively with the community.

What you'll need to succeed
- Qualification in Water Industry, Civil Construction or relevant discipline and a minimum of four years’ experience in water and wastewater networks, and at least two years experience leading and supervising multidisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated experience in operating tools and equipment in maintain existing mains and networks knowledge of industry standards inclusive of AS3500 and WSAA guidelines.
- Proven ability in planning, communicating, and coordinating resources for scheduled works and projects that require problem-solving skill set.
- Demonstrated ability in the use of computer applications, and operating devices effectively, embracing digital solutions for works activities to enable field productivity and scheduling based systems to facilitate day- to-day operations. Experience in the use of GIS mapping would be highly advantageous.
- Ability to network effectively with key stakeholders in offering advice and support to delivering operational and maintenance services.
- Demonstrated ability in leading teams, providing effective communication, driving performance, and fostering a positive working culture.
- Hold and maintain an MR Drivers Licence, WHS Induction Card, Confined Space Entry Certificate, Working from Heights ticket, Working under Powerlines ticket, Traffic Controller Skill Set (Blue Card) & Implement Traffic Control Guidance (Yellow Card), demonstrated competency in the use of an excavator.
Other requirements
- Be willing to undergo a pre-employment medical prior to commencement.
- Complete immunisation record of Hepatitis A, B and Tetanus or willingness to obtain prior to commencement
- Willingness to obtain within 12 months of employment; HR Drivers Licence and Asbestos Awareness Training.
