Your
Position:
As the Senior Team Leader Civil Construction and Maintenance, you will play a key role in supervising and coordinating the day-to-day operations of a team of Civil Team Leaders, Labourers, and contractors. You’ll oversee the construction and maintenance of Council’s civil assets — including roads, footpaths, kerbs, gutters, and drainage infrastructure — to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
This position is hands-on, combining leadership, technical expertise, and operational management. You’ll create and implement maintenance programs, manage materials and contractors, and triage and allocate customer requests.
Your
responsibilities will include but not be limited to:-
- Leading and supervising staff, including work allocation, performance management, and training.
- Planning and overseeing the delivery of civil construction and maintenance works.
- Triaging and allocating customer requests through Council’s Asset Mobility System.
- Managing contractors, including inductions, work quality, and payments.
- Ordering materials and managing budgets to support project delivery.
- Ensuring compliance with WHS and legislative requirements.
- Undertaking hands-on civil maintenance work as required, including concrete and road maintenance.
- Promoting a positive team culture focused on safety, quality, and service.
To be
successful in this role you will have:-
- Proven leadership experience in supervising civil teams.
- Demonstrated experience in civil construction, maintenance, and drainage works.
- Strong communication and organisational skills with a focus on safety and quality.
- Competency in the operation of minor plant and equipment.
- Proficiency in using computer systems and mobile work management tools (e.g. Assetic Mobility).
Key
Requirements:
- Certificate III in Civil Construction or equivalent qualification, or at least five years’ relevant experience.
- Current
NSW MR Driver's Licence.
- NSW
General Construction Induction Card (White Card).
- Be willing to undertake
pre-employment screening, including a pre-employment medical and/or police
check.
