The Package: $126,358.44 - $139,630.92 gross per annum + 12% super. (Evaluated as Grade 18 of the QPRC Salary System 2025). Full-time – 35 hours per week. Flexible work arrangements will be considered.

Council is seeking a highly experienced HSEQ leader to drive compliance, continuous improvement and cultural transformation in an operationally diverse organisation.
In this role you will:
- Play a key role in strengthening Council’s commitment to a physically and psychologically safe workplace, through the strategic development, implementation and monitoring of HSEQ policies and procedures.
- Lead a small team of WH&S and wellbeing professionals to coordinate and enhance HSEQ system. This can include audits, incident investigations, risk assessments, maintaining ISO certifications and safety and wellbeing events to ensure Council meets regulatory and industry standards.
- Promote internal awareness through training, education and workplace committees, etc, to create a proactive approach to HSEQ and foster a reputation of trust when it comes to Council’s commitment to safety, sustainability and excellence.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has qualifications and extensive industry experience in the HSEQ field.
- Has proven experience in leadership to motivate and support team members to deliver HSEQ outcomes.
- Demonstrates strong resilience and communication skills to liaise and negotiate with a diverse range of clients, whilst being able to overcome complex and challenging situations under pressure.
