Expressions of Interest are invited for the position of Fitter - Maintenance Assistant, based at Council's Inverell Works Centre. The Fitter - Maintenance Assistant is responsible for assisting with the implementation, control and carrying out of a maintenance program on all of Council’s water and wastewater pumps and equipment to the satisfaction of the Water and Sewer Coordinator.

Essential Criteria:
- NSW School Certificate or equivalent.
- Trade Certificate as Fitter or other related trade or suitable experience.
- NSW Class MR Drivers Licence.
- National Licence to perform High Risk Work for Dogging (DG).
- Enter and Work in Confined Spaces Certificate.
- Work safely at heights unit of competency.
- SafeWork NSW General Construction Induction card (‘White Card’).
Desirable Criteria:
- SafeWork NSW Traffic Control Work Traffic Controller (TCR) accreditation.
- SafeWork NSW Traffic Control Work Implement Traffic Control Plans (IMP) accreditation.
- IXOM Liquefied Chlorine Gas Emergency Preparedness accreditation
Employment will be in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Local Government (State) Award 2023. The classification for the position will be in a range up to Operational Band 1, Level 3, Grade 5 to Administrative/Technical/Trades Band 1, Level 4, Grade 8. Salary will be in accordance with qualifications and experience, and will be in a range from $1,101.11 to $1,320.01 gross per week. In addition, a Level 1 Adverse Working Conditions Allowance of $0.513 per hour or a Level 2 Adverse Working Conditions Allowance of $1.327 per hour will be paid where applicable based on the location and type of work being undertaken. As this position is considered to be in an at-risk category, Council requires that the successful applicant receive vaccinations for Hepatitis A and Hepatitis B at Council’s expense.
