The role of Payroll Officer includes:
• Perform all Payroll function efficiently including entry/upload/process/check & master file maintenance
• Payroll reconciliations/computation & provision of supporting documentation
• Calculate termination payments & related documentation.
• Reconcile & pay monthly superannuation, payroll creditors and PAYG tax
• Respond to and follow up on Payroll enquiries.
• Assist with EOFY ATO STP requirements
• Complete returns for Centrelink & Australian Bureau of Statistics
• Process Certificate of Service for Council staff transfers on termination & hire.
• Provide Local Government (State) Award interpretation relating to Payroll
What we are seeking in our new team member:
1. Accounting Certificate
2. 5 years’ experience in a similar role
3. Team player with high attention to detail and accuracy
4. Experience with the use of payroll systems (CIA desirable)
5. Sound knowledge of payroll principles and practices
6. Competent written and oral communication and strong customer service skills
