The role:

As part of our continued focus on strengthening WHS governance following organisational change, we are undertaking an independent review of our WHS framework.
To ensure the effective implementation of review outcomes, we’re now seeking an experienced Work Health & Safety Specialist to join the organisation and lead a prioritised WHS action plan focused on compliance, risk reduction and continuous improvement.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll partner with leaders across the business to drive WHS improvements, provide practical WHS advice, manage WHS governance and risk frameworks, oversee workers compensation and return-to-work processes, and drive the implementation of improvement initiatives arising from audits and risk reviews, including psychosocial safety and Respect@Work requirements.
You’ll work closely with People, Culture & Capability, senior leaders, and Health Centre teams to develop proactive, prevention-led safety practices that truly make a difference.

Who Are We?

What you’ll do?
- Implement actions based on WHS reviews and assessments, translating findings into practical, prioritised improvements
- Track and report on agreed WHS actions and process improvements
- Provide expert WHS advice and guidance to people leaders and teams
- Maintain the WHS Risk Register and support WHS governance and committee forums
- Create sound processes for incident investigations and workers compensation / return to work programs to ensure compliance with state-based reporting requirements to ensure ongoing compliance
- Support and uplift WHS capability through training, coaching and education
- Ensure compliance with WHS legislation across NSW, VIC, QLD, SA and WA
- Work collaboratively across multiple sites, including occasional interstate travel
What you’ll bring:
- 5+ years’ WHS hands-on experience, together with the ability to present ideas and formulate plans for ongoing governance
- Sound knowledge of separate state-based legislation. codes of practice, etc.
- Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety (or equivalent experience)
- RTW qualifications
- Familiar with WH&S audit material and the implementation of ‘change’ as a consequence of new legislation and updated requirements or regulatory findings.
- Sound knowledge of WH&S governance, risk and committee processes, together with data analytics as it relates to WH&S experiences and trends.
- Excellent communication, consultation and stakeholder engagement.
Bonus points for:
- Experience in healthcare, allied health, private health insurance or regulated environments
- Exposure to psychosocial hazard management or Respect@Work legislation and frameworks
