About the role
Work with the Learning Manager as well as multiple business SMEs developing and implementing fit for purpose learning solutions for our front-line field workforce, Planners and Schedulers to deliver excellent customer service.
Support the Learning Manager in planning and designing as well as taking the lead in the management, execution and delivery of the Sydney Water’s FSM learning program to achieve program and organisational outcomes.
We aspire the program’s learning experiences to be workplace focused and scenario based. Embedding changes to our peoples’ ways of working as an outcome of the program is the primary focus; the FSM technology is the enabler of new work practices.
The key responsibilities for an ideal candidate are:
- Conduct and refine learning needs analyses across multiple business units
- Work with the Program Team, business readiness team and SME across the organisation to implement the program of work.
- Design human-centred learning artefacts, such as quick reference guides, videos and work-based classroom experiences for our field-based people, work planners, schedulers, data specialists and others.
- Facilitating scenario-based classroom training using computers and mobile devices
- Analyse evaluation data and adjust the learning materials as required to optimise impact.
- Design skill embedment activities such as refreshers and post-training assessments
- Apply learning innovation and industry good practice into the program’s learning approach and plan
About you
You are a lifelong learner, innately curious about business and building capabilities to deliver on strategic outcomes. You prefer working in environments with a diverse workforce that has capability requirements spanning safety and operational needs through to change, innovation and everything in between. You understand the complexities of a major technology project and are willing to approach the learning design and delivery with agility, resilience and pragmatism. You have experience consulting, identifying and prioritising learning needs, designing and implementing solutions across the business. Degree qualification in education, OD, learning and/or Certificate IV in workplace training and assessing is ideal.
- Demonstrated experience and skills designing and delivering learning in complex technology-based implementations.
- Program and project management experience
- Extensive experience delivering significant programs of work in a number of organisations, preferably in operational environments.
- Specific experience in designing engaging learning products and the ability to design impact evaluation
- Understand adult learning principles, human-centred design and other notable learning philosophies, strategies and theories, and the ability to apply those concepts
- Ability to articulate learning objectives that are practical, focused, concise and measurable
- Strong interpersonal skills, especially influencing, coaching and communications skills
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with SME’s, project managers and collaborate both in person and virtually
