About the Role
Toll Group are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to join our Resources and Industrials division based in Dandenong working alongside a major gas provider. You will play an essential role in managing the current team and creating a high-performing, positive, and safety-obsessed team culture. As the Operations Manager you will be responsible to lead and support the operational work across the accountable contracts, enabling the execution of the contractual obligations and KPIs through effective cost management and resource allocation.
The Operations Manager will ensure that tasks are completed in the most efficient manner with agreed standards in operational procedures including strong emphasis on safety requirements. Be responsible for the delivery of the critical contract KPI’s, regularly communicating with drivers and stakeholders, compliance and managing staff to ensure business objectives are achieved in a safe and cost-effective way.
Duties and Responsibilities / a day in the life of the Operations Manager –
- Execution of contractual KPI’s and obligations, whilst optimising production / operational outputs
- Contribute to development of innovative operational systems, processes and standards across business portfolio.
- Contribute to the identification of improvement of business and operating processes, workflows, connections and activities across the business.
- Plan operational and workforce changes on a daily and weekly basis to ensure annual budgets are achieved together with sustainability in the highest standards of safety, environmental performance and customer service.
- Allocate people and assets to deliver on operational targets and service standards to meet the contractual obligations.
- Set operational objectives and deliver results through the team whilst translating the longer term into day-to-day objectives.
- Provide strong leadership, creating a positive workplace culture through collaboration and influencing the mindset of our people to improve the overall capability of the region.
What You'll Need to Succeed:
- Previous and proven Supervisor experience within a similar role within Transport/Logistics industry.
- Demonstrated experience with Operations, CoR, Fatigue Management.
- An analytical mind-set – strong ability to problem solve.
- Exceptional communication skills – written and verbal.
- Computer literacy skills – MS Office Suite: Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- High attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines within a time-pressured environment.
- Knowledge of HSE (Health, Safety & Environment)
