About the Role
As Legal Counsel, you will play a critical role in delivering high‑quality, timely legal support to the Global Logistics Australia businesses. You will handle a variety of matters with competing deadlines, providing clear, commercially aligned guidance that enables operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide accurate and timely legal advice under the direction of Managing Counsel and Senior Legal Counsel.
- Manage multiple matters simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment.
- Draft, negotiate and review customer and supplier contracts in line with Toll’s Global Legal Framework and preferred positions.
- Support compliance with corporate governance rules and internal processes.
- Build strong working relationships with business stakeholders to understand operational and service‑industry needs.
- Contribute to legal projects and strategic initiatives across the Toll Group.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of relevant legislative changes.
- Support and collaborate with peers across the Global Logistics – Australia legal team.
About You
You’re a confident and collaborative legal advisor with strong commercial instincts. You thrive in a dynamic environment and are comfortable influencing stakeholders at all levels.
What You’ll Bring
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years’ post‑qualification experience.
- Experience in oil & gas, marine, mining or defence sectors, or advising major corporations/government clients.
- Experience with project and/or corporate documentation.
- Demonstrated capability in face‑to‑face negotiations.
Skills:
- Excellent drafting and technical legal skills.
- Strong negotiation and influencing ability.
- Ability to manage multiple tight deadlines.
- Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills.
- High emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Law.
- Admitted as a Legal Practitioner with a current unrestricted practising certificate in Australia.
