ABOUT THE ROLE
Position
Council is offering a great opportunity for a suitably qualified, experienced, and enthusiastic individual to lead and motivate work teams within the mechanical workshop. The position provides high‑level support to the Team Leader, ensuring the efficient maintenance and repair of Council’s plant and machinery while coordinating daily operations to meet program goals on time and within budget. The role requires a strong commitment to safety, compliance, and quality, with all activities undertaken in line with Council requirements and relevant WHS, environmental, and quality standards.
To be successful you will bring

- Trade certificate relevant to the position.
- Demonstrated extensive experience in the repair and maintenance of heavy plant, machinery and on road vehicles within a workshop environment.
- Proven experience in the supervision of staff and contractors, including monitoring performance, coordinating worksite activities and training and development.
- Demonstrated well developed communication skills, both oral and written.
- Demonstrated digital literacy with experience and competence in computers and devices.
The rewards
- A salary range of $77,800 to $89,300 per annum (plus 12% superannuation) dependent upon skills and experience. This incorporates the payment of five hours of approved overtime per fortnight according to Council’s Annual Salary Agreement.
