Toll Global Finance Operations is a centralised shared services function supporting the business with general accounting, credit management, high‑quality reporting, and meaningful financial analysis. This role plays a key part in delivering accurate data, timely reporting, efficient processes, and a strong customer‑focused service approach.
About the Global Finance Operations OE Team
This team leads and supports cross‑functional continuous improvement initiatives across key finance streams (P2P, OTC, R2R). You’ll help standardise global processes, identify bottlenecks, and drive improvements that enhance productivity and decision‑making. By optimising repeatable, high‑volume tasks, the FO centre delivers better practice and ongoing continuous improvement across the business.
You’ll ensure all finance activities align with Toll Group policies and the Finance Operating Model, while continuously improving processes, systems, and ways of working. Collaboration, teamwork, and a commitment to excellence are essential.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead and support finance projects across process optimisation, reporting enhancements, offshoring activities, systems and data improvements, and other ad‑hoc initiatives, ensuring delivery from analysis to handover.
- Conduct detailed financial analysis, reconciliations, investigations, and reporting across P2P, O2C and General Accounting, identifying trends, issues, and root causes while recommending and implementing improvements.
- Ensure strong data integrity by interrogating system data, validating reports, understanding system/data flows, and maintaining adherence to Toll accounting policies and standards.
- Collaborate effectively with finance and non‑finance stakeholders by gathering requirements, facilitating workshops, validating outcomes, communicating insights, and supporting transition to business‑as‑usual.
- Drive continuous improvement by documenting processes, developing artefacts, measuring and reporting benefits, promoting new ideas, and enhancing daily routines and operational efficiency.
- Operate with strong judgement and ownership by navigating ambiguity, managing multiple priorities, delivering outcomes independently, and providing backup capacity for other finance activities during peak periods.
What You will need to succeed
- Professionally qualified (or part‑qualified) with strong finance and accounting foundations, advanced analytical capability, project accounting skills, and a solid understanding of business unit operational drivers.
- Highly attentive to detail with strong problem‑solving skills, continuous improvement mindset, and knowledge of lean principles (Yellow Belt preferred), plus experience challenging processes and recommending future‑state solutions.
- Advanced Excel proficiency with strong Microsoft Office skills, supported by experience in business process modelling, process mapping (including Signavio), SOP development, and process standardisation/optimisation.
- Experience with Tier 1 ERP systems (SAP/Oracle preferred) and functional expertise across finance processes, ideally gained within a mid‑large multinational organisation or the transport/logistics sector.
- Strong written and verbal communication, stakeholder engagement, and influencing skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams, including remote environments, and build alignment and consensus.
- Proven ability to support and drive change initiatives aligned with organisational values, with the capability to challenge existing approaches and deliver process‑improvement outcomes.
