About the opportunity

We are seeking applications for a newly established position within Councils Environmental Services team. Reporting to the Environmental Services Team Leader, you will review and provide technical environmental and specialist advice on development and planning proposal assessments, focusing on establishing positive environmental outcomes across the Wollondilly Shire.
To succeed in this position, you will meet the following criteria:
- Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science or Environmental Planning or a related discipline.
- Class C Driver’s Licence.
- Extensive experience reviewing and providing technical environmental advice on development and planning proposal assessments, with the ability to work through issues with applicants to achieve positive environmental outcomes.
- A demonstrated sound knowledge of the Environmental Planning & Assessment Act 1979, Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016, and other relevant planning and environmental legislation, and emerging planning reforms.
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communications skills with an ability to relay complex technical information to various audiences.
