About the position:
The Events & Venues Bookings Officer is responsible for receiving community event applications and bookings for processing and approvals. Additionally, the position is responsible for undertaking a range of functions and activities to support the delivery of City-run and City supported events throughout the year. The officer will work closely with the Events Team to ensure community, cultural and civic events and functions are planned and executed to a high professional standard. The officer will manage all aspects of bookings for City grounds and Geraldton Multi-Purpose Centre.
Position is offered as a fulltime fixed term contract until February 2027.
Key accountabilities:
- Act as the City’s point of contact and liaise with external event applicants regarding their application and event at a City venue or ground, ensuring all necessary documentation is submitted and circulated to internal City departments for approval.
- Assist the Events & Venues Team with all the planning, preparation and implementation of community, cultural and civic events as required.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with external stakeholders as well as internal departments of the City regarding grounds/facilities bookings and event approval applications.

With over 70 events happening across the City of Greater Geraldton each year, the City’s Events Team have an important role to play in ensuring these events are approved in a timely manner. Remuneration and benefits:
The Events & Venues Bookings Officer position has a salary starting from $76,072 per annum or $38.4981 per hour, offered dependent on knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications.
