The Role
CBCity has an opportunity for someone with extensive experience in road infrastructure to join our Roads Operations unit as a Maintenance Inspector.
You will be responsible for marking and locating public utility services throughout Council's assets to resolve customer needs in relation to civil works and general enquiries.
Duties will include but not be limited to:
- Inspect, locate and mark public utility authorities at jobsites via BYDA (Before You Dig Australia) to ensure customer requirements are met.
- Optimise workplace safety while minimising costs and inconvenience caused by damage to services.
- Keep up to date with utility location technology developments and assist other locators on jobs as required.
- Mark out defects ready for repair and develop a program of works ready for saw cutting and maintenance teams.
- Develop and implement internal processes with regular inspection reports to improve quality, safety and environment sensitive issues.

You will have:
- Current C class drivers’ licence and a WHS Construction White Card.
- Relevant Technical or Trade qualification or extensive experience in road infrastructure construction and maintenance.
- Demonstrated experience in the construction and restoration of Council infrastructure such as roads and drainage.
- Competency in the operation of electronic locating devices.
- Ability to read and comprehend BYDA (Before You Dig Australia) plans.
- Ability to understand basic construction plans.
- Knowledge on how to set up and use surveying equipment such as a dumpy/laser level.
- Skills and strategies to manage difficult situations.
The salary range for this opportunity starts at $77,261 (Grade E, Step 1) + 12% super. Salary may be negotiable dependent on skills and experience.
