About the role
A rare opportunity is available for a highly motivated and experienced Asset Engineer to join the Stormwater Drainage and Flooding team.
In this role, you will be helping to manage the City’s floodplain management and stormwater asset management programs by performing site inspections, drainage feasibility investigations and asset condition assessments, and by providing technical input to customer enquiries and developing stormwater asset renewal and maintenance work programs to meet the City’s needs, standards and policies.
The position holder will also support the Stormwater Drainage and Flooding team by working with relevant stakeholders to develop and maintain accurate asset registers and GIS data ensuring the quality of assets being handed over.
We’re looking for someone with:
- tertiary qualifications in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or a related field
- knowledge and experience across the lifecycle of infrastructure asset management
- understanding of stormwater infrastructure, water quality, and floodplain management, preferably in a local government context
- experience with stormwater-related numerical modelling and design
- proficiency in asset management information systems and GIS mapping tools
- demonstrated ability to investigate and report on civil infrastructure matters
- experience preparing briefs and managing projects at a design or investigation level
- strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills with a customer-focused approach
- class C NSW Driver’s Licence.

This role has the option to enter into a team-based 9-day fortnight condensed work arrangement + hybrid working model.
