About the role:
We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Cyber and IT Systems Engineer to support the delivery of secure, reliable and resilient ICT services. Reporting to the ICT Operations Coordinator
In this role you will:
- Delivery of strategic ICT roadmap initiatives, improvement opportunities and contributing to the
future technology direction. - Provide leadership, support and technical architecture for IT cloud and cyber related changes,
challenges and projects liaising with relevant internal teams and external vendors where
required. - Responsible for implementing and supporting effective cyber security practices and
configurations across all of council cloud and on-premise systems.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following key skills and attributes:
- Lead, support and guide all IT teams to implement new cloud & cyber technologies and systems,
maintain the cloud platform and cyber services that underpin the critical council business
applications and integration services. - Responsible for the design. delivery and/or management of Cloud hosted OS, backup, and
replication technologies together with external vendors - Responsible for the design, architecture delivery and/or management of network solutions -
Wi-Fi, LAN/WAN, Proxy, SASE technologies together with external vendors - Work with councils internal and external technical delivery partners for IT systems-related
work. - Responsible for leading the technical architecture, design, implementation and support of
effective cyber security practices and configurations (ACSC Essential 8, NSW Mandatory 25,
etc.) across all CCC IT systems - Liaise with external consultants and IT systems suppliers to scope, design and support system
enhancement requests. - Take a lead role in the proactive identification, analysis, and remediation of cyber risks,
designing robust solutions in alignment with recommendations from the Council’s Cyber
Security Advisor. - Drive the implementation of regular vulnerability assessments by selecting and architecting
appropriate vulnerability management tools and methodologies, ensuring prioritised and
effective remediation strategies. - Collaborate closely with ICT project managers to author and maintain internal technical cyber
security policies, standards, and architectural frameworks that underpin project delivery. - Oversee the development and ongoing enhancement of comprehensive technical
documentation, ensuring all records of security incidents, investigations, and implemented
measures are architecturally sound and meticulously maintained. - Direct engagements with external vendors, providing oversight and architectural guidance for
the escalation and resolution of complex technical issues. - Partner with external consultants and IT systems suppliers to architect and deliver system
enhancements that support the council’s strategic objectives. - Assist the ICT Operations Coordinator in evaluating proposed or possible new or enhanced
