NSWA Senior Base Engineer - Mascot

Toll Aviation delivers some of Australia’s most complex and respected aeromedical aviation services, and we’re searching for an experienced Senior Base Engineer (Fixed Wing) to lead our Mascot engineering team in support of NSW Ambulance’s critical fixed‑wing operations.
This is a rare opportunity to step into a high‑impact leadership role, guiding a team of 15 skilled Licenced Engineers, AME’s and Trades Assistances in maintaining a modern fleet that includes King Air and PC‑24 aircraft—operating in one of the most demanding emergency medical service (EMS) environments in the country.
Why This Role Matters
As the Senior Base Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and compliance of our fixed‑wing fleet. You’ll lead day‑to‑day engineering operations, provide expert technical direction, and act as a crucial operational interface with NSW Ambulance—directly contributing to life‑saving aeromedical missions across the state.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading and managing all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance for the Mascot fixed‑wing fleet.
- Providing leadership and support to the NSWA engineering team, including LAMEs, AMEs, and technical assistants.
- Ensuring maintenance documentation accuracy, airworthiness, and full regulatory compliance.
- Coordinating aircraft checks, line maintenance, defect management, and AOG responses.
- Maintaining strong operational relationships, including running weekly engineering meetings with NSW Ambulance.
What We’re Looking For
- CASA Part 66 license with EMS fixed or rotary‑wing experience.
- Strong technical experience on King Air aircraft; PC‑24 experience highly regarded.
- Proven leadership capability within complex engineering teams.
Desirable
- Experience with Gannet or IAS maintenance systems.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Additional Requirements
- Ability to obtain an ASIC.
- Compliance with NSW Ambulance vaccination requirements (e.g., up‑to‑date immunisation status for relevant mandatory health‑related vaccinations).
Role Details
- Location: Mascot, Sydney
- Hours: Monday–Friday, 6:00am–2:30pm
- Reports to: Head of Fixed Wing Engineering
- Travel: Occasional interstate travel
