About the Role
Reporting to the Manager Economic Strategy, the Regulatory Modelling Analyst develops, maintains, and interrogates economic and financial models and large regulatory datasets that underpin Endeavour Energy’s submissions to the AER and IPART. This role requires advanced analytical expertise, strong technical skills, and the ability to translate complex modelling outputs into clear, actionable insights for internal stakeholders. Your work will guide regulatory, investment, and strategic decisions that drive material business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and document regulatory economic and financial models, including building block outcomes, incentive mechanisms, and benchmarking analysis
- Review regulatory datasets submitted to the AER and IPART to identify opportunities to improve outcomes
- Analyse regulatory determinations to assess impacts on revenue, expenditure forecasts, incentives, and risk profiles
- Conduct sensitivity, scenario, and stress testing to inform regulatory strategy and executive decision-making
- Provide robust quantitative analysis to support regulatory submissions and responses to information requests
- Translate complex modelling results into clear, decision-ready insights for internal stakeholders
- Monitor regulatory developments, guideline changes, and emerging methodologies to ensure compliance and improve modelling capability
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Analytics, or a related quantitative discipline
Experience & Skills
- Demonstrated experience applying quantitative analysis, economic or financial modelling to support complex business or regulatory decisions
- Strong analytical and data capability, including experience managing large, complex datasets with integrity, transparency, and reproducibility
- Advanced proficiency with analytical and modelling tools (e.g., Excel-based models, statistical or data analysis software)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to explain technical analysis clearly to non-technical stakeholders
- Practical understanding of economic or regulatory frameworks and the ability to interpret externally defined rules, guidelines, and determinations
- Proven ability to deliver high-quality analytical outputs within governance frameworks and tight deadlines
- Experience in the electricity industry or other regulated environments (utilities, infrastructure, government, economic regulation, or financial services), ideally supporting regulatory resets
