About the role
Ensure our investment planning and asset management frameworks evolve as the organisation transitions from a traditional Distribution Network Service Provider (DNSP) to a greater number of Distribution System Operator (DSO) services.
You will connect the long-term strategy with day-to-day investment logic spanning Design, Repex, Augex, Future Grids and Markets to ensure the Network business has the governance, visibility and capability to make transparent, value-driven investment decisions.
You will help support the governance and continuous improvement of our core investment frameworks, including the Asset Management System (AMS), Strategic Asset Management Plan (SAMP) and Network Business Strategy (NBS) Roadmap.
Strategic System Leadership
- Maintain a whole-of-system view linking replacement, augmentation, DER, flexibility and digital investments.
- Ensure the NBS, SAMP and AMS align with corporate strategy, risk appetite and customer outcomes.
- Monitor regulatory and industry developments to inform long-term network strategy.
Governance and Frameworks
- Lead governance and delivery of the NBS Roadmap, tracking progress and outcomes.
- Strengthen the Asset Management System and uplift asset management maturity.
- Ensure consistent investment frameworks and methodologies across Network teams, EPMO and Corporate Strategy.
Investment Insight
- Connect risks, costs, benefits and outcomes across investment portfolios to support transparent decisions.
- Track benefits realisation and feed insights back into planning and strategy cycles.
Cross-Business Influence
- Facilitate alignment between planning, strategy and delivery teams.
- Translate complex technical and risk insights into clear, executive-ready messages.
Future Focus
- Support the shift toward a DNO/DSO operating model, integrating DER, flexibility and digital capabilities into investment planning.
Minimum qualifications and experience
- Degree qualification in Engineering, Business, Economics or equivalent
- Asset management leadership: Strong understanding of ISO 55001 principles, asset-management systems and continuous-improvement governance.
- Investment planning expertise: Experience in risk-based investment planning, cost-benefit analysis, and long-term scenario modelling.
- Analytical capability: Advanced proficiency with data and reporting tools to analyse trends and visualise investment evidence.
- Regulatory and industry awareness: Understanding of AER frameworks, network regulation and emerging DSO/DNO planning approaches
