The Revenue team is responsible for the collection of Councils revenue including rates and annual charges and user charges and fees. The team is also responsible for the administration of Councils name and address register, debt management and corporate receipting functions.
About the role:
We are currently seeking an experienced Revenue Accounting Officer. In this role you will be part of a dynamic, fast paced financial services team and be responsible for reconciliations of general and subsidiary ledgers, preparation of financial reports, providing information as part of Councils audit programs, assisting with rate levy activities and all customer service requests associated with rates and revenues.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following key skills and attributes:
- Tertiary qualifications in accounting and/or demonstrated extensive experience in financial accounting and financial reporting.
- High level demonstrated competency with reconciliations, including subsidiary and general
- Demonstrated experience and competency in the preparation of statutory and other financial
- Demonstrated experience in accounts receivable and revenue collection accounting practices.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral and the ability to work as an effective and cooperative team
- Well-developed planning and time management
