Camden Council is seeking an experienced and detail‑oriented Accounting Officer - Contributions to play a key role in managing developer contributions that support the delivery of infrastructure and community outcomes across our growing local government area.
This position is ideal for a finance professional who enjoys working with complex data, ensuring legislative compliance, and contributing to high‑quality financial reporting that informs decision‑making.
In this role, you will make a direct contribution to Council's financial sustainability by maintaining accurate developer contributions registers and ensuring compliance with legislative and accounting requirements. You will be the subject matter resource for Section 7.11 and Section 7.12 developer contributions, supporting both internal stakeholders and external customers.
You will also contribute to broader corporate outcomes by supporting monthly corporate reporting.
Essential:
- Tertiary qualifications (or commenced) in an accounting / finance related discipline,
- Extensive knowledge and experience in applying accounting policies and procedures,
- Excellent research, analytical and problem-solving skills (including reconciliation skills),
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal),
- Expert knowledge and application of Microsoft Office products (particularly financial spreadsheets),
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment,
- Proven ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines.
Desirable:
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in developer contributions accounting procedures,
- Experience in the use of the Civica Authority application and Novaplan Contributions software.
