About The Role..
Join our dynamic team as an experienced
Speech Pathologist, working across our Private Hospital and Public Spinal Cord Injury Unit. In this full-time role, you’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of medical, nursing and allied health professionals to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care.
You will be responsible for the assessment and management of clients with acquired and developmental communication disorders and/or dysphagia, supporting improved outcomes and quality of life. This is a 12-month maternity leave locum, offering a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact while expanding your clinical experience in a specialised rehabilitation setting.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Overseeing and providing high quality evidence-based speech pathology assessment & interventions for adults with neurological, spinal and degenerative conditions in private and public contexts.
- Providing clinical supervision and support of a Level 1 /2 Speech Pathologist in the Private Day Program.
- Actively contributing to speech pathology service development projects, initiatives & research.
About You..
We seek a self-motivated and friendly individual with:
Essential Criteria
- Degree in Speech Pathology & eligible for practising membership of Speech Pathology Australia.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in working within a rehabilitation framework & a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to evidence-based practice & quality projects.
- Excellent time management, flexibility and self-organisation skills.
- Trained in Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallow (FEES) or strong interest in being trained in FEES.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience working in private hospital setting.
- Experience in complex neurological rehabilitation, oncology, aged care & spinal cord injury.
- LSVT or SPEAKOUT! training.
- Interest in student supervision.
